REFRIGERATED CONTAINER USE
Dairy products
Store products containing milk, yogurt, cheese, and ice-cream at optimal temperatures to extend their shelf life.

Storing dairy products

As dairy products rapidly deteriorate if not stored in optimum conditions, the industry is subject to strict health and safety regulations. Consequently, businesses operating within this sector depend on cold storage facilities to extend the shelf life of their goods and protect them from external temperature fluctuations, vermin, damage and theft.

Cream of the crop

Heat causes bacteria to spoil products prematurely; when correctly refrigerated, dairy products last longer and are safer to consume. Companies use Triton Temperature-Controlled Containers to protect the integrity of goods by precisely controlling their environment. When the internal temperature is set, it will remain consistent even if external conditions change.

While large farms and manufacturers can typically afford to construct state-of-the-art facilities, small companies may find this prohibitively expensive. Triton Domestic Refrigerated Containers provide an economical and more environmentally friendly alternative to most traditional brick-and-mortar constructions. Reefers can be invaluable for storing excess stock onsite, selling goods at events, allowing companies to experiment with new product lines and transporting products to a wider consumer base.

Triton Refrigerated Containers are supplied with an aluminum loading ramp designed to help your team load and unload products safely and efficiently. Flexible and portable by design, our units can be connected to the grid or powered by a generator set. The standard safety features include a man trap panic alarm and internal emergency lighting for use in the event of power failure.

Some tips for storing dairy products
  • Before loading goods, sanitize the unit and ensure it is dry, clean and odor free.
  • Set the unit at the recommended internal temperature for the specific dairy products you wish to store.
  • Always ensure the temperature is stable and the unit is operating correctly before use.
  • When required, separate products to avoid cross-contamination.
  • Store dairy products in airtight packaging which is clearly labeled and dated.
  • To help prevent spoilage, leave space between the roof and the top of the boxes to allow air to move freely, and never stack items floor to ceiling or too close to the walls.
  • Use older items first and remove any dairy products that have expired or are damaged or spoiled.
  • Check the unit every six hours or more frequently if required to ensure the temperature remains within the desired range.
  • Clean the unit interior frequently.
